My name is Giada Paolicchi. I was born in Pisa in April 1998, and since I was a child, I have loved drawing. I was fascinated by colors, shapes, and shades. Growing up, I never abandoned this passion. After obtaining my diploma as a Surveyor, I decided to pursue my artistic inclination, which I had already begun to cultivate at the academy of Master Pollacci. I enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and graduated in Painting and Visual Arts with great satisfaction.

In my first academic year, my style was predominantly figurative. I loved charcoal and tried to capture the soul of the human being by portraying it in black and white. However, one day during my second year, a new painting professor had us do an improvisation exercise with oil paints, and what emerged was my first abstract painting.

This piece sparked an entire series and led me to almost completely move away from figurative art.
My abstract paintings aim to represent techniques, methodologies, landscapes, environments, emotions, and sounds. They are usually created on medium to large-sized cardboard with acrylics, oil paints, and sometimes materials like sand, foam, stucco, wire, and aluminum sheets. Through painting, I express myself and the facets of my character and soul. Painting is a way of telling my story but also of depicting what surrounds us, how it influences and shapes us.

After completing my academic journey, I decided to take a gap year and traveled to Australia, a long-held dream of mine, for a study/work adventure. This experience taught me a lot and greatly inspired me. Without a doubt, a new series of paintings will emerge from this experience, representing me once again but in a completely different, unique way, just as each series and each painting does in its own way.

Today, besides painting, I specialize in web design and graphics, working as a freelancer and always open to new collaborations.
